Natural Hemp Yarn
Hemp yarn are spun from the fibre that comes from bark of hemp plant.
Villagers collect wild hemp from very remote high Himalayan range. They take the bark from plant and lay it in sunlight for 3-4 days to dry. Then fibre are put in big pond for water retting for 10 days and rinsed with clean water.
Dry Retted fibre are distributed among our spinners for hand-spinning. Nepal with it’s unique hand-spun technique provide good strength and twist to the yarn.
